Effect of Mineral Additives on Fusion Behavior of Agricultural Residue Ashes during Combustion or Co-combustion with Lignite

چکیده

In this work, the ash fusibility behaviour of selected agricultural residues and their blends with lignite was studied, by carrying out chemical, mineralogical, thermogravimetric analyses calculating slagging/fouling indicators for predicting deposition tendencies in boilers. Two additives, bauxite, clinochlore, were used at varying amounts to reduce melting, followed examining anti-fusion mechanisms. Initial deformation softening temperatures biomass materials low combustion processes operating above 900 °C due high concentration K, Na, P compounds. When additives mixed raw fuels or lignite/biomass blends, initial ashes started up 340 higher, whereas fluid temperature most cases exceeded 1500 °C. Bauxite more effective than clinochlore. The positive impact attributed mineralogical transformations during ashing phases a melting point through reactions Na-bearing minerals, CaO fuel ashes.

Investigation of the uptake ability of fly ashes produced after lignite combustion.

Fly ash samples from the five steam electric power stations of the Lignite Center of Western Macedonia were used in this study. They consisted mainly of anhydrite, lime, quartz and amorphous material as well as feldspars, calcite, micas + clays, portlandite and gehlenite which were all present in minor amounts. Anhydrite, lime and portlandite in the fly ash samples diminished upon treatment wit...

Effect of Swirl on Gas-Fired Combustion Behavior in a 3-D Rectangular Combustion Chamber

The objective of this work is to investigate the turbulent reacting flow in a three dimensional combustor with emphasis on the effect of inlet swirl flow through a numerical simulation. Flow field is analyzed using the SIMPLE method which is known as stable as well as accurate in the combustion modeling, and the finite volume method is adopted in solving the radiative transfer equation. In this...
